This is our mantra.
Sure, we may make it look easy, but it’s hard work making the difficult look effortless—and that’s what we strive for. We believe in doing things right the first time; taking time to understand the goals of the project first, before any pixel gets pushed, or any code gets committed. Once everyone is aligned (and only then) do we proceed through a process we’ve developed over two decades and hundreds of websites and applications. We approach design, coding, and development as a craft—no templates here. Like architects, artists or engineers, we take pride not just in what we build, but how.

We don’t own a cookie cutter. The websites and applications we build are unique and distinct, crafted for clients, big and small, that value insight, efficiency and squeaky clean code. We use our strategic, creative and technical expertise to triangulate more comprehensive solutions, always analyzing the project from every angle. Because of this tested, rock solid process, we often eliminate problems by anticipating them before they occur. Our stuff is air tight, and it does what it’s supposed to do.
Our history
We’ve been deep into the web and application development since the very beginning. Over the years, we’ve developed sites for brands as diverse as 1-800-Flowers, Stephen King, Sara Lee, Ronzoni, and even a certain Global Financial Institution. Millennium was conceived as an interactive agency from the very beginning, and although we’ve grown, we stayed true to our original vision. We’ve navigated the ever-changing digital landscape for decades—from Interactive CDs with Director, to the birth (and eventual death) of Flash, to static, liquid, adaptive, and now responsive web design, to smartphones, interactive native mobile apps, and AR/VR.
What sets Millennium apart from other digital agencies
For one, our solutions are compliant with WCAG 2.0 (Web Accessibility Guidelines). We believe that your content should be available to everyone, regardless of physical or mental ability. We have an entire section on this site dedicated to Accessibility if you’d like to know more.
We also have the technical chops to bring to life any design decision we make. We write our own code, have our own hosting centers, and thoroughly understand each step of the web development process from its first napkin sketch to its launch on a secure domain.
We’re flexible. Our job is to make you, our clients, look good and have a smooth, successful experience during your web project. We’ve worked in waterfall, agile and in-between. We are constantly bettering ourselves with design critiques, post-mortem reviews, peer-code reviews, and dedicated Smoke testing, QA and client UAT runs.
Application Developers like to talk about sweet code. We like to talk about secure and reliable code. Every Application that we build passes through our stringent SDLC and Quality Assurance process modeled after BSIMM maturity “Best Practices”.
We also look towards new technologies to constantly better ourselves and create more engaging experiences for our clients and their customers. One of these technologies shows amazing promise: Progressive Web Apps (or PWAs); These engaging, reliable, and fast applications blend tried-and-true development technologies with newer real-time techniques that allow almost instantaneous loading onto any device. PWA's enable users to interact with information at a moments notice and create experiences with the elegance of an app and the flexibility of a web build. We’re excited about PWAs and what they can do for our clients.

Our process
We start every project the same way—by asking the same question: What are the goals? We drill down to the nitty-gritty by collaborating with, and understanding, every aspect of our clients’ expectations and desires before we dive into the build. Those key insights discovered allow us to nail it…the first time.
Depending on the project or context, at times certain steps can be eliminated or blended. For example, we frequently work hand-in-hand with many top-tier agencies and design firms that need the development and technical firepower only Millennium can deliver. In these cases, we work closely with external design teams to offer our UX and development insights, ensuring that what is designed and represented to the client can actually be flawlessly built and delivered.

The web moves pretty fast and doesn’t wait up for stragglers. Some technologies that were industry standard ten years ago don’t even exist anymore. We lean towards the cutting edge because not doing so is to risk falling behind. We stay current with the latest, most stable advances in web development.
